The George River Association strives to hold a night market every month. To allow guests to better enjoy the performances and savor the food, the night market will adopt a "30-minute performance + 30-minute break" cycle.
The third Hurstville Night Market was held at Hurstville Plaza on Saturday, March 15, 2025 from 4 to 10 pm.
Taste of Shunde, 88 BBQ, Vegetarian Pancakes, Taiwanese Boneless Chicken Fillet, Yummy Egg Burger, Teppanyaki X Squid, Bingo, Crazy potato, Chao Shi Rice Roll, Mini Fry Bun, Telicious, Unicorn Wonderland, Meet Taiwan provided a variety of delicious food, such as egg burgers, skewers, pancakes, dumplings, snacks, fried squid, marshmallows, desserts, and soft drinks. TVB, Hungry Panda Takeaway, ECCNSW, Wukong Education, Living and Bathroom provided various consultations and small gifts.
Attendees enjoyed live music and performances by the Australia Oriental Dance Group, Georges River Art Troupe, Georges River Little Apple Art Troupe, Southern District Chinese Cultural Center, Jian Hua CAO, Feng Shan ZHANG, Feng Shan ZHANG, Richard HE, Jian Guo XIAO, Daniel LI, Mary XU, Zi Ling LIU and more. They brought folk dance, tap dance, Latin dance, aerial dragon dance, gongfu, magic, ventriloquism, Yue opera, Huangmei opera, Teresa Teng's golden songs and more.

The night market offered a variety of gourmet street food, featuring Chinese, Nepalese, Australian, and other cuisines, such as egg burgers, skewers, pancakes, dumpling, snacks, marshmallows, desserts, and drinks. Attendees can enjoy live music and performances by the Australia Oriental Dance Group, Lily Monteverdi School of Music, Movement Nation Dance Studio, Georges River Art Troupe, Georges River Little Apple Art Troupe, and more.

The first Hurstville Night Market was successfully held on Saturday, October 5 at Hurstville Plaza. The night market offered a variety of gourmet street food, featuring Chinese, Nepalese, Australian, and other cuisines. Attendees can enjoy live music and performances by the Australia Oriental Dance Group, Young and Fabulous, St George Community Wushu Centre, Movement Nation, Georges River Art Troupe, Georges River Little Apple Art Troupe, and more. Interactive activities like lucky draw and karaoke were also available for everyone to enjoy.
After the first night market, the George River Association widely solicited opinions and applied for the subsequent night markets, actively communicating with the council including face-to-face meetings to make the subsequent night market more successful.

On March 25, 2024, Georges River City Council approved Councillor Ben Wang's motion for Hurstville Night Market. The council will now begin planning and preparing for the night market activities, taking various specific measures to fully support businesses in revitalising the economy of the Georges River area.
Motions to support businesses within the Centres of Georges River Council by Councillor Wang:
1. Information sessions and information packages for small businesses on the planning and complying development process.
2. Information packages on shop front designs that enhance street appeal and promote activation.
3. Explore reviewing planning controls as they apply to the changes of use to existing premises with the aim of simplifying the process and reducing determination times.
4. Reviewing the Street Performance Policy and Busking permit to promote street performances, thereby stimulating the night economy.
5. Enhancing Hurstville Plaza to become a cultural, entertainment, and economic hub by improving lighting, shade, and hosting more regular food market events.
6. Investigating options to improve facilities and processes at Hurstville War Memorial and Hurstville Interchange Park to further stimulate the night economy.
7. Investigating the introduction of day-time events similar to the Lions Festival which used to take place in Oatley.
8. Collaborating with Transport for NSW to explore increasing bus services to centres.
9. Ensuring follow-up on the action plan outlined in the Night-Time Economy Report 2021, with regular updates provided to Council.
10. Establishing partnerships between the council and private investors, business chamber, local community organisations, and Economic Leadership Group to facilitate the development of night-time economy initiatives.
