The initial proposal for the night market was put forward by Independent Councillor Ben Wang at the council meeting on March 25, 2024. In November 2025, the Georges River Council officially approved the Hurstville Night Market as a permanent monthly event. 

We are incredibly proud to have started off the very first Hurstville Night Market in October 2024 and to have successfully delivered 11 night markets since then. 

It is with a bit sadness to announce that the Georges River Association’s application to continue the Hurstville Night Markets at Hurstville Plaza in 2026 has not been accepted. If you'd like to find out more, please contact the Council for more information.
